A "QIF" (Quicken Interchange Format) file is used by Quicken financial programs that transfer data between different files or between a bank and Quicken. This file type, which has also been used by programs such as Microsoft Money, can be converted to a more universally accessible "XLS" (Excel Spreadsheet) file using several conversion programs. Since the conversion is a bit obscure, two of the conversions require an additional step or two to complete the process.

  Visit the XL2QIF website (see Resources) and download the XL2QIF Excel Add-In Version 1.1. Unzip the files using an unzipping program and install the program. The program acts as an add-in to Microsoft Excel and it will create a new menu item labeled "XL2QIF." Open Microsoft Excel and click on the menu. Scroll down to "Save to QIF" to save your current file as a QIF file. Select an output folder and an output file name and click "Convert."

Open your CSV data file in Excel and highlight all the data you wish to convert.

Tips & Warnings

XL2QIF 1.1 will work with all the latest versions of Microsoft Excel, but users with Excel '97 will need to download 1.0 instead.

Pernah ngalamin kemalingan?

Ya, gunakan Kamera CCTV. Tapi masalahnya harganya 1 paket berjut jut. Apakah emng instalasi CCTV harus mahal? SALAH BESAR, dengan memanfaatkan PC dan webcam kita bisa membangun sendiri jaringan CCTV di rumah, kosan, ato kantor sekalipun.

Caranya ternyata sangat simple dan dapat dilakukan dengan barang2 yang udah familiar di kehidupan kita.

Lebih lanjut, monggo ikutin langkah berikut.

Persiapan

Hal pertama adalah siapkan bahan2nya terlebih dahulu.

1. PC ato laptop, gw saranin PC karena ni PC harus idup 24 jam.

2. Webcam, ato kamera lainnya yg bisa dikonekin ke PC/Laptop.

Lebih gw saranin pilih kamera yg resolusinya gak bagus2 amat, max 1.3MP.

Kenapa? Karena kita bakal ngerekam video melalui kamera ini, makin gede resolusi, makin gede ukuran file yg dibentuk.

3. Software untuk me-manage webcam di PC.

Disini gw gunakan software free bernama Webcam7.

Software ini bisa digunain utk me-mange 7 kamera sekaligus. Ingin lebih?Upgrade ke versi berbayar.

Fitur yg disuguhin antara lain =

- Capture gambar

- Record video dg tambahan fitur scheduling

- Sebagai server utk streaming video dari webcam yg kita punya.

Software nya udah gw sediain di blog ini. Link ada di akhir artikel.

Instalasi :

Masuk ke tahap selanjutnya.

1. Instalasi webcam di PC

- Install driver webcam di PC

- Koneksikan PC dan Webcam

Prosesnya gampang kq, kayaknya cukup ya, gak perlu dibahas lebih lanjut.

2. Instalasi software Webcam7

- Tinggal download dari link dibawah, trus next2 aja sampai terakhir finish.

- Buka Aplikasi dari Start > Program > Webcam 7 > Webcam 7.exe

- Pilih mode “Free”

- Nongolnya kayak gini

Klik kanan pada layar yg ditengah > trus pilih PCI/USB > pilih PC Camera-168

Ntar tampilannya bakal kayak gini

(Lakukan hal yang sama untuk kamera2 berikutnya)

Nah disinilah pusat tata surya nya alias control panel software ini.

Huruf A = adalah utk nambahin keterangan di gambar, semisal Text, Tanggal, Jam, CPU Usage, Memory Usage, dan Brp user yg lagi konek ke kamera ini.

Capture = untuk ngambil gambar, berformat JPEG

Record = untuk ngerekam video, bisa rekam sekaligus streaming ttp jalan lho.

Lainnya utak atik sendiri ya.. Simple kq

Lanjut ke Tab berikutnya yaitu Web/Broadcast

Disini bakal ditampilin IP berapa aja yang lagi konek ke Webcam kita, yg perlu diperhatiin adalah pastiin Internal Web Server is Running, kl mati tinggal klik enable.

Kl kita mau gambar upload video realtime kita ke webhosting juga dari sini tempatnya.

Langkah Terakhir adalah set agar Aplikasi ini Run Otomatis ketika Windows nyala.

Caranya :

Pastikan Start With Windows dan Start Minimized dalam kondisi ter-centang.

Selesai.

3. Cek Apakah sudah berhasil?

Caranya buka web browser, lalu masuk ke alamat

Misal gw disini http://10.8.8.201:8080

Kl berhasil, bakal muncul web page kayak gini

Nah selesai sudah, kita dah bisa memantau hasil pencitraan seluruh webcam yg kita pasang dari sini.

Di gambar cuma ada 1 gambar karna gw cuma pake 1 kamera waktu pengetesan ini.

4. Integrasikan di web intranet dalam satu jaringan LAN (bila perlu)

Dimaksudkan apabila kita mau nampilin video streaming dari webcam tadi di halaman web yang kita punya.

Tapi web yg gw maksud adalah web internal, yaitu web yg diakses dalam ruang lingkup satu jaringan LAN.

caranya :

Tools > Generate HTML Code.

Next2 in aja, trus muncul kode HTML nya

Tinggal copy seluruh coding HTML ini ke halaman web kamu.

Untuk Web pada Internet gunakan fitur “Upload HTTP / FTP” dari tab “Web/Broadcast“.

5. Posisikan kamera di tempat yang strategis

Biasanya di pojokan. Kl gw? kira2 kek gini.

Gw pake buat ngawasin pintu keluar masuk ruangan kantor gw. Ge pake buat streaming dan proses record di jam kerja.

Ilustrasi Penggunaan :

1. SECURITY CAMERA.

Digunakan untuk merekan video dengan memanfaatkan fitur recording with scheduler, jadi kita gak perlu repot2 tiap hari jalanin proses recording, tinggal atur jam nya, software ini akan ngelakuinnya secara otomatis.

Arahkan kamera ke tempat2 keluar masuk rumah seperti pintu dan jendela, misalkan ada kemalingan? tinggal jadiin hasil rekaman sbgi barang bukti

2. PARENTAL CONTROL CAMERA.

Digunakan untuk mengawasi kondisi kantor, para customer atau para pegawainya.

Atau digunakan di rumah untuk mengawasi kegiatan anak2 anda.

3. STREAMING CAMERA.

Digunakan untuk bikin siaran live dari rumah kita sendiri. dan bisa diakses dari mana aja selama mereka terhubung internet. WOW

How to configure a BlackBerry smartphone as a Bluetooth IP Modem on a Mac computer

A BlackBerry® smartphone with tethered modem over Bluetooth® capabilities can be used as an external modem to connect a Mac computer to the Internet using a Bluetooth connection. A script is included with the BlackBerry Desktop Software that provides the option to select Research In Motionas a vendor when configuring your BlackBerry smartphone for tethered modem use.

Note: Depending on the BlackBerry smartphone that is connected and the wireless service provider (network type provided by the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card), the modem script auto-populates the required configuration information when the BlackBerry smartphone user begins the setup of modem capabilities.

To set up an Internet Protocol (IP) modem connection with Bluetooth wireless technology on a Mac computer, complete the following tasks:

Summary of Tasks

Task 1 – Enable Bluetooth services on the BlackBerry smartphone, and configure the BlackBerry smartphone to be discoverable.

Complete the following steps:

On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options > Bluetooth.
Press the Menu key and select Enable Bluetooth.
Press the Menu key and then click Options.
Set the Discoverable field to Yes.
Press the Menu key and click Save.

Task 2 - Pair the BlackBerry smartphone to the Mac computer, and then configure it as a modem.

Open System Preferences on the Mac computer and then select Bluetooth.
Click the + button to open the Bluetooth Setup Assistant.
The Mac computer performs a search of Bluetooth enabled devices within proximity (this might take a few moments). Once the Mac computer has completed the search for Bluetooth enabled devices, highlight the BlackBerry smartphone from the list provided and then click Continue.
A passkey should now appear on the Bluetooth Setup Assistant. At this time, the BlackBerry smartphone displays the following prompt: Enter numeric passkey for <Mac Name>. Type the passkey in the field provided.
Note: There is a limited amount of time for this step — if necessary, click Continue and then try again.
The Bluetooth Mobile Phone Setup window appears. In the Phone Vendor field, selectResearch In Motion. Information such as the Phone Model, Username, Password, access point name (APN), and card identification (CID) might be required. The values in these fields are prepopulated by the IP modem script included with the BlackBerry Desktop Software. If the BlackBerry Desktop Software is not installed, this information may need to be obtained by contacting the mobile service provider.
Ensure that the Show Modem status in the menu bar and Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar options are selected, and then click Continue.
Click Quit.

Task 3 - Configure the BlackBerry smartphone to trust the connection from the computer

On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options > Bluetooth.
Under Paired Devices, highlight the connection to the Mac computer, press the Menu key and select Device Properties.
Select Trusted and set to Yes.
Press the Escape key and select Save.

Task 4 – Connect to the Internet

Open System Preferences.
Click Network.
Identify if Bluetooth or Bluetooth DUN is listed in the interface list. Highlight the available Bluetooth interface and select Advanced to complete the modem configuration.
Verify the following information:
1. Vendor: Research In Motion
2. Model: BlackBerry IP Modem (GSM) or BlackBerry IP Modem (CDMA) - depending on the network type your BlackBerry smartphone or subscriber identity module (SIM) card is associated with.
3. APN: internet.com - by default, the internet.com APN is displayed.
Click OK to save the configuration changes.
Click Apply.
Click Connect.

Note: If the above configurations do not allow for successful connectivity, contact your wireless service provider to verify the required information.

Using the preceding steps from the Overview section, a configuration might not have been successfully set up with the Bluetooth modem connection on the Mac computer. For example, the following information should be configured specifically for T-Mobile® USA BlackBerry smartphone users:

After this information has been specified, click Connect.

Note: <space> indicates pressing the spacebar in the Account Name or Password fields.

IT policy

Dial-up Networking (DUN) might not be permitted by an IT policy on BlackBerry smartphones that are activated on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. The option within Bluetooth settings will be unchecked and dimmed as shown in the following screen shot:

STEP 2: SET UP YOUR MOBILE INTERNET SETTINGS

Before a BlackBerry smartphone can be used as a modem, you must set up your mobile Internet settings. Select or create a profile that contains the information required by your wireless service provider to permit the Internet connection. Some profiles have been provided, but you can also create a new profile by completing the following steps:

Connect your BlackBerry smartphone to your computer.
Launch the BlackBerry^® Desktop Software 6.0 and click Tools > Mobile Internet settings.
Do one of the following:
- Click the profile for your wireless service provider in the Profile drop-down list. In theProfiles Settings section, type any required information that is not already included in the profile. For more information, contact your wireless service provider.
- Click Add custom profile if your wireless service provider does not appear in the Profiledrop-down list. Type a name for the profile. Contact your wireless service provider to determine the information that is required for the Profiles Settings section. Required information can vary for each wireless service provider.
Click OK.

STEP 3: CONNECT TO THE INTERNET USING YOUR BLACKBERRY SMARTPHONE AS A MODEM

To perform this task, you must first set up your mobile Internet settings to create a connection profile. Depending on your wireless service plan, extra fees might apply.

Connect your BlackBerry smartphone to your computer.
In the BlackBerry Desktop Software, click Tools > Start Mobile Internet.
Click Connect.

Note: a screen will appear displaying the connection time and amount of data downloaded.

To end the connection, click your Internet connection status. If the BlackBerry Desktop Software is already closed, you can also end the connection by clicking the Dial-Up icon in the notification area of the Windows^® taskbar.

Using Apple Mail for Yahoo! users can be a stumper. Previously it could only be used by Yahoo! Mail Plus accounts, and not the free Yahoo! Mail accounts. But thanks to the free MacFreePOP service, you can now configure the Mail app to fetch, send out, and handle all of your Yahoo! mail.

Apple Mail and Yahoo!

There’s no direct way to use Apple’s Mail app for your free Yahoo! Mail. You’d need a paid Yahoo! Mail Plus account to get through that “Create New Account” screen. Sure, you can sign up with Gmail (it’s free), and that’s a good alternative, or have a MobileMe account (free for 60 days), but if you REALLY want that free Yahoo! Mail account because you’ve wrapped your whole entire digital life on it, I've got your back! Luckily, there is a way to POP your way for cheapskates and stubborn Yahoo users like I.

Just like a recipe, you’ll need the following:

A free Gmail account
A free Yahoo! Mail account
MacFreePOPs
A Terminal code

Don’t be daunted. Following this guide should help you get through.

First off, sign up for a Gmail account if you don’t already have one. For those who want to avoid having multiple accounts, we can set Gmail to auto-forward whatever it receives to your Yahoo! email account, which will be discussed more later.

We need the Gmail account to be able to send outgoing mails. Unfortunately, our free Yahoo! Mail accounts won’t allow us to send mail out using Apple's Mail program.

I’m sure you already have a free Yahoo! Mail. That’s why you’re reading this article! We'll need the login details for your Yahoo! account to set up the account in Apple’s Mail.

Download, install, and update MacFreePOPs. The link can be found via Apple’s downloads section. It will handle forwarding your emails from Yahoo! to your Apple Mail.

1. Run MacFreePOPs and Launch Mail

Once we’ve done all these preliminary “set up” steps, now we get to the nitty-gritty, sci-fi Mac OS X technical tinkering.

When you launch MacFreePOPs a window will pop-up and then quickly hide, that’s its normal behavior since it runs in the background, getting out of your way. Check for any updates by just right-clicking on the icon and click on Show MacFreePOPs Window and let it look for updates. I strongly suggest you to install them. Should there be no updates, you’re in luck so just hide the window away and make sure that the MacFreePOPs icon’s envelop is colored green - meaning it’s running in the background.

Launch Apple's Mail and be welcomed by the Welcome to Mail screen if no accounts have been set. Input your desired name, your full Yahoo! Mail address, and your password. Make sure to uncheck "Automatically set up account".

2. Set the Incoming / Outgoing Mail Servers

In the Incoming Mail Server window , leave the Account Type as POP. Change the Incoming Mail Server text to 127.0.0.1, username and password should be your full Yahoo! Mail address (including the “@yahoo.com” suffix) and your Yahoo! password. Click Continue (even if it says that the POP server “127.0.0.1” is not responding).

In the Incoming Mail Security window , make sure that “Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)” is unchecked, and the Authentication is set to Password. Click Continue.

The Outgoing Mail Server ’s description should be set to localhost, and Outgoing Mail Server should be set to smtp.gmail.com. Check “Use only this server”. Check the Use Authentication box. Username and password should be your complete Gmail address (including the “@gmail.com” suffix) and your Gmail password.

Shortly thereafter, an Account Summary will display . Check “Take account online” then hit Create.

3. Further Preference Settings

By now, you’ve set up your Mail account for your free Yahoo! Mail account. But we’re not done yet. On the Preference pane of Mail , go to Accounts then select the Advanced tab. I personally prefer keeping my mail on my Yahoo! account so I uncheck Remove copy from server after retrieveing a message. I raise this because there might be people who want to keep both copies online and on their Mac. Change the port to 2000, then save your settings.

Get mail and you’ll notice your Yahoo! Mail’s popping your messages from your Inbox. Make sure you run MacFreePOPs before launching Mail. It will fetch contents from your Yahoo! Mail inbox.

4. A Few More Tricks

The current set up of your Mail is that it fetches your @yahoo.com inbox, but sends out using your @gmail.com email. This might pose a problem since our configuration is:

Whenever we send out emails the account being used is Gmail. If a recipient replies, the email will go to Gmail, which is the wrong inbox since we're fetching from Yahoo! There are two things you can do (and I suggest doing both) to prevent this from happening, consequently keeping your email exchanges Yahoo!-centric.

5. Auto-Fill the Reply-To Fields

One solution is provide an entry in the Reply-To field when you create new mails. But for those who often forget, like myself, you can automate filling this field via Terminal.

You can dictate via Terminal that all mails sent out from Apple’s Mail be replied to a specific email address. In this case, we want everything to be replied to your free Yahoo! Mail account.

Open Terminal
Type defaults write com.apple.mail UserHeaders '{ "Reply-To" = "replytoaddress@yahoo.com"; }'
("replytoaddress@yahoo.com" is the specific email address you want people replying to).
Press Enter
To check if your desired email was entered properly, you can review the Reply-To address by typingin in defaults read com.apple.mail UserHeaders and press Enter. It should return the Yahoo! Mail address you specified.

6. Auto-Forward Gmail to Yahoo!

I personally don’t use Gmail and only have an account solely for the purpose of being able to send out using Apple’s Mail, and I like running my digital life around Yahoo!

Sometimes I occasionally get email sent “wrongly” to my Gmail accounts. To avoid this, you can set Gmail to forward whatever it receives in your inbox, to your specified email address.

Log on in your Gmail account on the web and…

Click Settings
Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
Choose "Forward a copy of incomping mail to" and input your Yahoo! Mail address
Choose if you want to either keep, archive, or delete Gmail's copy in its inbox.
Click on Save changes

Once all of these are done, you can enjoy your free Yahoo! Mail to send and receive by running both MacFreePOPs along with Apple's Mail. Enjoy!

This step by step guide will help you install Mac OS X Snow Leopard as well as Windows 7 on a single PC! You don’t even need a high end PC! Just your current computer will work!

Step by Step Guide to Dual Boot Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Windows 7 on a PC:

Note: You need to follow the steps in the given hierarchy. Performing them out of order will not work.

1. Backup your data:

The first and the most important thing is to backup your data. It is not optional at all because you need to format and partition your hard disk from scratch. Best option is to write the important files to a DVD ROM so that you are able to access them anytime, anywhere.

Tip: DVD ROMs work even in worst conditions when USB and network ports may fail.

2. Partitioning the Hard Disk:

One of the most fundamental things in getting a dual booted Mac OS and Windows system is the proper partitioning. For partitioning, you can use any method of your choice. I know you are pretty used to doing this simple stuff. You may use partition magic or you can even partition your hard drive by booting your system with a windows XP CD.

I assume that you have a hard drive with 120 GB of total capacity. You are about to divide it into 3 partitions of 50 GB, 30 GB and 40 GB. But for now, you’ll make only one partiton of 40GB and leave the rest of the space unpartitioned.

3. Install Mac OS X Snow Leopard:

The next step is to install Mac OS X Snow leopard on your PC*. Lifehacker has a pretty nice and handy tutorial for doing that. You don’t even need to do any hacking! Install Snow Leopard on the 40 GB partition. Do not touch the unpartioned space.

4. Install Windows 7:

Now you need to install windows 7. When you go through the boot process you can easily find the unpartitioned space. Divide it into two partions of 50GB and 30 GB each using the installation wizard. 50 GB is going to be the C:\ drive whereas the 30 GB one will be the data storage drive. If you prefer having only one drive, then you may go for a single partition of 80 GB. Install Windows 7 on the desired partition.

When you finish installing, you’ll be booting into Windows 7 only. There will be no operating system selection menu while starting up. No need to worry!

5. Set up dual boot:

Here comes the climax! Now you have to set up the dual boot of Windows 7 and Mac OS X Snow Leopard. It is as easy as 1 2 3!

Open the browser and head to http://neosmart.net/
Look for the latest version of EasyBCD and download it. Current version is EasyBCD 1.7.2. You can download it here. It should work fine for Snow Leopard.
Install and run EasyBCD on your computer.
From the main screen of EasyBCD select the “Add/Remove Entries” option on the left side.
Select “Mac” tab.
Select “Generic X86 PC” from the drop down menu. Try the other options if it doesn’t work but that’s a very rare case.
You are all done. Reboot your PC and you can now see the boot menu showing Windows 7 as well as Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Select any of them and bingo!

9. Marked on the Standard Modem, name connection “Blackberry Modem”, then click Next.

Bagaimana bikin listrik di rumah pakai solar panel.

Menggunakan listrik dari tenaga surya di rumah? Wah menarik juga, tapi bukankah itu solusi yang mahal? Kan, PLN sudah menyediakan listrik yang lumayan murah. Lalu apa untungnya buat saya kalau menggunakan listrik ‘buatan sendiri'?

Semua tergantung dari kebutuhan yakni digunakan untuk apa PLTS ( pembangkit listrik tenaga surya ) yang kita pasang. Jika untuk mengcover seluruh peralatan rumah tangga pada umumnya saat ini, memang masih dapat dibilang kurang terjangkau dan sesuai.

Saat ini untuk menggunakan PLTS, perlu dibuatkan skala prioritas terlebih dulu. Dan berikut beberapa pertanyaan mendasarnya.

Dimanakah saya tinggal ? Jika tidak ada atau akses PLNnya kurang baik (listrik PLN sering mati), PLTS bisa menjadi salah satu solusi sebagai sumber energi.
Nah, bagaimana jika akses PLNnya sudah baik? Tentunya, untuk biaya jangka pendek, penggunaan PLN masih lebih murah sehingga jika kalkulasi biaya sebagai tujuan untuk mendapatkan yang lebih "murah", nampaknya PLTS masih belum dapat menjadi solusi karena PLTS masih bersifat investasi dimana membeli listrik beberapa tahun ke depan untuk dikonsumsi saat ini.

Apa keuntungan menggunakan listrik dengan solar panel?

Mengurangi biaya listrik jangka panjang (inget loh, kita kan pakai listrik seumur hidup!)
Mengurangi ketergantungan pada listrik dari batubara (horeee...emisi karbon saya turun!)
Menghindari dampak pemadaman saat harus mengejar deadline, sementara komputer tidak bisa dinyalakan :-)
Sedikit pamer ke teman-teman kita bahwa kita sudah bergabung dengan komunitas pengguna solar panel sedunia! (huhuuuyy..! )
Turut mengurangi pemanasan global karena sistem solarpanel menghasilkan energi yang ramah lingkungan yang tidak menyebabkan polusi.

Hmmm... tapi kenapa pakai solar panel sih?

Mayoritas listrik yang digunakan di Indonesia berasal dari pembangkit listrik dengan bahan baku batubara. Masalahnya, dari proses ini dikeluarkan banyak emisi karbon yang merupakan sumber terbesar penyebab terjadinya pemanasan global (global warming).

Sementara, permintaan kita untuk listrik makin hari makin besar. Coba lihat berapa alat di rumah kita yang tidak bisa berjalan tanpa listrik, dari DVD hingga kulkas. Belum lagi penggunaan listrik yang boros. Akibatnya, pembangkit listrik kita tidak mampu lagi untuk memberikan listrik sebesar permintaannya. Makanya pemadaman makin sering terjadi.

Di sisi lain, kita kan tinggal di negara yang kaya akan cahaya matahari yang dibuktikan secara geografis letak Indonesia di Garis Khatulistiwa sekaligus sebagai Negara Tropis. Kenapa gak kita maksimalkan saja penggunaan cahaya matahari yang diberikan gratis oleh Tuhan?

OK, saya berminat dengan solar panel... lalu, bagaimana dengan biaya pemasangannya?

	Kita mulai dengan perhitungan dulu. Berapakah kebutuhan jumlah total beban di rumah yang akan menggunakan tenaga dari solar panel? Dari tagihan listrik, bisa dilihat tingkat konsumsinya dalam bentuk kWh (kilowatt per jam) setiap bulan misalnya. Nah dari situ kita bisa identifikasikan berapa kWh yang dibutuhkan tiap hari, misalnya 200 watt.
	Pertanyaan selanjutnya adalah : Berapa lama beban yang totalnya 200 watt ini akan dihidupkan dengan menggunakan sistem solar panel ? Boleh kita ambil misalnya 12 jam. Jika 12 jam, berarti total konsumsi daya beban dalam sehari adalah 12 x 200 kWh = 2.400 watt.
	Tentunya lebih diuntungkan jika beban yang menggunakan solar panel dinyalakan pada siang hari. Dengan begini, penggunaan baterai relatif tidak berat dan dimungkinkan jumlah baterai dapat pula dikurangi jumlahnya, karena listrik yang disupply tidak hanya oleh baterai tetapi sinar matahari masih turut memberikan supply. Mari kita ambil contoh penggunaan sistem solar panel adalah pada pukul 18.00 s/d 06.00 (12 jam).
	Nah, sekarang kita hitung berapa besar dan jumlah baterai yang dibutuhkan untuk mensupply beban sejumlah total 2.400 watt: Jumlah total 2.400 watt perlu ditambahkan sekitar 20% yang adalah listrik yang digunakan oleh perangkat selain panel surya, yakni inverter sebagai pengubah arus DC (searah) menjadi AC (bolak - balik) (karena pada umumnya peralatan rumah tangga menggunakan arus AC), dan controller (sebagai pengatur arus) yakni menutup arus ke baterai jika tegangan sudah berlebih di baterai dan memberhentikan pengambilan arus dari baterai jika baterai sudah hampir kosong. Sehingga jika ditambahkan 20%, maka total daya yang dibutuhkan adalah 2.400 x (2.400 x 20%) = 2.880 watt.
	Dari 2.880 watt tersebut, jika dibagi 12 V ( tegangan umum yang dimiliki baterai) maka kuat arus yang dibutuhkan adalah 240 Ampere. Maka, jika kita menggunakan baterai yang sebesar 65 Ah 12 V, maka kita membutuhkan 4 baterai (65 x 12 x 4 = 3.120 watt).
	Dengan mendapatkan 3.120 watt ini, kita akan mendapatkan jumlah panel yang kita butuhkan, termasuk besarannya yakni sebagai berikut. Jika menggunakan ukuran panel yang 100 wp (watt peak), maka dalam sehari panel ini kurang lebih menghasilkan supply sebesar 100wp x 5 (jam) = 500 watt. Adapun 5 jam didapat dari efektivitas rata-rata waktu sinar matahari bersinar di negara tropis seperti Indonesia, dan 5 jam ini sudah menjadi semacam perhitungan rumus baku efektivitas sinar matahari yang diserap oleh panel surya. Maka jika 1 panel yang 100 wp mampu memberikan listrik sejumlah 500 watt, didapatkan total panel yang dibutuhkan adalah sejumlah 3.120 watt / 500 watt = 7 panel (baiknya kita lebihkan).
	Nah, kita sekarang sudah berhasil mendapatkan kombinasi antara jumlah panel surya dan baterai untuk mensupply listrik sejumlah total 3.120 watt yang dinyalakan selama 12 jam sehari dimana beban yang menggunakannya dinyalakan pada malam hari antara pukul 18.00 s/d 06.00 yakni : 7 PANEL SURYA YANG 100 WP DAN 4 BUAH BATERAI 65Ah 12 V.

Perihal harga, saat ini sistem ini (sudah berikut seluruh perangkatnya) adalah berkisar US$ 9 -10 per wattnya. Jadi jika menggunakan 7 panel yang 100 wp (sehingga totalnya = 7 x 100 wp), maka estimasi biaya kurang lebih 700 watt x US$ 10 = US$ 7,000.

Smart EVDO Internet Unlimited

Koneksi internet Smart EVDO Rev A Unlimited kecepatan paket Silver 512 kbps, Platinum 3.1 Mbps, Ultimate 3.1 mbps/1.8 mbps. Jangkauan Jakarta Bandung Semarang Jogjakarta Solo Surabaya Bali Malang.

Saya heran dengan Smart EVDO. Dulu awal-awal promo gaungnya heboh sekali. Dalam waktu singkat jangkauannya sudah meliputi seluruh Jakarta. Bahkan sudah sampai Surabaya dan Malang kota sekitar 4 bulan lalu.

Saya sampai datang ke markas Smart di Jalan Coklat, Malang, kapan sih Smart EVDO sampai ke kampung saya yang berjarak sekitar 25 km dari kota. CS-nya belum tahu. Dan ternyata sampai sekarang masih adem ayem saja. Semangat mau pakai Smart EVDO jadi agak kendor.

Tempo hari saya cukup senang dengan berita adanya koneksi internet unlimited berteknologi serupa bernama AHA EVDO dari BConnect (Bakrie Telkom). Namun ternyata, unlimited-nya tidak murni. Kecepatan 3.1 Mbps itu dengan catatan quota 3 GB. Setelah pemakaian mencapai 3 GB, maka kecepatan akan melorot tajam ke 200 Kbps. Sungguh kejatuhan yang tidak mengenakkan. Ibaratnya, AHA EVDO memanjakan kita dengan naik BMW dua hari, terus harus naik sepeda kebo pada 28 hari berikutnya.

Berbeda dengan Smart EVDO. Kecepatan 3.1 Mbps adalah tanpa quota. Jadi, kecepatan tidak turun-turun.

Akhirnya saya memutuskan untuk tidak memakai AHA EVDO Internet. Dan dengan sabar menunggu datangnya koneksi Smart EVDO Internet Unlimited ke kampung saya. Untuk sementara saya pasrah pakai Speedy yang kabel telponnya suka dicuri maling.

SUTET ( SALURAN UDARA TEGANGAN EKSTRA TINGGI )

SUTET adalah singkatan dari Saluran Udara Tegangan Ekstra Tinggi dengan kekuatan 500 kV yang ditujukan untuk menyalurkan energi listrik dari pusat-pusat pembangkit yang jaraknya jauh menuju pusat-pusat beban sehingga energi listrik bisa disalurkan dengan efisien.

Berbagai macam kekhawatiran muncul akan dampak SUTET terhadap kesehatan bagi penduduk yang tinggal di wilayah yang dilewati jalur Penelitian dan dampak.

Hasil penelitian yang sangat mempengaruhi pandangan masyarakat dunia tentang hubungan kanker otak pada anak dengan paparan medan elektromagnetik adalah hasil penelitian Wertheimer dan Leper tahun 1979, yang sempat menggoncangkan dunia karena risiko positif yang dilaporkannya. Sejak penelitian tersebut, berbagai studi epidemiologi dan laboratorium lainnya dilakukan sebagai replikasi dan eskpansi penelitian Wertheimer di berbagai negara. Walaupun demikian, peningkatan resiko leukemia masih ditemukan pada jarak dimana besar medan listrik bernilai di bawah kondisi di dalam rumah, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan resiko leukemia tidak diakibatkan oleh medan listrik atau medan magnet yang diakibatkan oleh SUTET [1]

PKK, pada penduduk di bawah SUTET 500 kV di Kabupaten Pekalongan, Kabupaten Pemalang, dan Kabupaten Tegal (2004) menunjukkan bahwa besar risiko electrical sensitivity pada penduduk yang bertempat tinggal di bawah SUTET 500 kV adalah 5,8 kali lebih besar dibandingkan dengan penduduk yang tidak bertempat tinggal di bawah SUTET 500 kV. Secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa pajanan medan elektromagnetik yang berasal dari SUTET 500 kV berisiko menimbulkan gangguan kesehatan pada penduduk, yaitu sekumpulan gejala hipersensitivitas yang dikenal dengan electrical sensitivity berupa keluhan sakit kepala (headache), pening (dizziness), dan keletihan menahun (chronic fatigue syndrome). Hasil penemuan Anies menyimpulkan bahwa ketiga gejala tersebut dapat dialami sekaligus oleh seseorang, sehingga penemuan baru ini diwacanakan sebagai "Trias Anies".
· Corrie Wawolumaya dari Bagian Ilmu Kedokteran Komunitas Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia pernah melakukan penelitian terhadap pemukiman di sekitar SUTET. Hasilnya tidak ditemukan hubungan antara kanker leukemia dan SUTET [2]
· John Moulder mencoba menarik kesimpulan dari ratusan penelitian tentang dampak SUTET terhadap kesehatan. Moulder menyimpulkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan sebab akibat antara medan tegangan listrik dan kesehatan manusia (termasuk kanker). Walaupun demikian medan tegangan listrik belum bisa dibuktikan benar-benar aman. Selain itu disepakati juga bahwa jika ada bahaya kesehatan terhadap manusia, maka itu hanya terjadi pada sebagian kecil kelompok [3].
· WHO berkesimpulan bahwa tidak banyak pengaruh yang ditimbulkan oleh medan listrik sampai 20 kV/m pada manusia dan medan listrik sampai 100 kV/m tidak mempengaruhi kesehatan hewan percobaan. Selain itu, percobaan beberapa sukarelawan pada medan magnet 5 mT hanya memiliki sedikit efek pada hasil uji klinis dan fisik [4]

Pengukuran Medan Listrik dan Medan Magnet di bawah SUTET 500kv

Sampai sekarang masyarakat masih khawatir tinggal dibawah Saluran Udara Tegangan Ekstra Tinggi (SUTET) 500 kV. Ketakutan ini tampaknya berawal dari pernyataan ahli Epidemiologi bahwa SUTET dapat membangkitkan medan listrik dan medan magnet yang berpengaruh buruk terhadap kesehatan manusia. Masyarakat bahkan ada yang mengeluh pusing-pusing walaupun belum dapat dibuktikan penyebabnya. Kehadiran medan listrik dan medan magnet di sekitar kehidupan manusia tidak dapat dirasakan oleh indera manusia, kecuali jika intensitasnya cukup besar dan terasa hanya bagi orang yang hipersensitif saja. Medan listrik dan medan magnet termasuk kelompok radiasi non-pengion. Radiasi ini relatif tidak berbahaya, berbeda sama sekali dengan radiasi jenis pengion seperti radiasi nuklir atau radiasi sinar rontgen.
Medan listrik dan medan magnet sudah ada sejak bumi kita ini terbentuk. Awan yang mengandung potensial air, terdapat medan listrik yang besarnya antara 3000 - 30.000 V/m. Demikian juga bumi secara alamiah bermedan listrik (100 - 500 V/m) dan bermedan magnet (0,004 - 0,007 mT). Di dalam rumah, di tempat kerja, di kantor atau di bengkel terdapat medan listrik dan medan magnet buatan. Medan listrik dan medan magnet ini biasanya berasal dari instalasi dan peralatan listrik antara lain berasal dari : sistem instalasi dalam rumah, lemari pendingin, AC, kipas angin, pompa air, televisi, mesin tik elektronik, mesin photocopy, komputer danprinter, mesin las, kompresor, saluran udara tegangan rendah/menengah (SUTR/M) yang berdekatan, dan lain-lain. Pada sistem instalasi yang bertegangan dan berarus selalu timbul medan listrik. Tetapi medan listrik ini sudah melemah karena jaraknya cukup jauh dari sumber.
Di bawah SUTR dan SUTM kuat medan magnet bervariasi antara 0,1 – 3,5 mikrotesla. Di dalam bangunan rumah, kantor, bengkel atau pabrik, medan magnet karena saluran udara ini jauh lebih lemah lagi. Diusahakan dalam pemilihan jalur SUTET tidak melintas daerah pemukiman, hutan lindung maupun cagar alam. Di beberapa daerah pemukiman yang padat mungkin tidak bisa dihindari jalur SUTET untuk melintas, tetapi baik medan listrik maupun medan magnet tidak boleh diatas ambang batas yang diperbolehkan. Medan Listrik di bawah jaringan dapat menimbulkan beberapa hal, antara lain :

suara/bunyi mendesis akibat ionisasi pada permukaan penghantar (konduktor) yang kadang disertai cahaya keungumenimbulkan an,
bulu/rambut berdiri pada bagian badan yang terpajan akibat gaya tarik medan listrik yang kecil,
lampu neon dan tes-pen dapat menyala tetapi redup, akibat mudahnya gas neon di dalam tabung lampu dan tes-pen terionisasi,
kejutan lemah pada sentuhan pertama terhadap benda-benda yang mudah menghantar listrik (seperti atap seng, pagar besi, kawat jemuran dan badan mobil).

Hubungan Medan Listrik dan Medan Magnet dengan Kesehatan

Kekhawatiran akan pengaruh buruk medan listrik dan medan magnet terhadap kesehatan dipicu oleh publikasi hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Wertheimer dan Leeper pada tahun 1979 di Amerika. Penelitian tersebut menggambarkan adanya hubungan kenaikan risiko kematian akibat kanker pada anak dengan jarak tempat tinggal yang dekat jaringan transmisi listrik tegangan tinggi. Banyak ahli yang meragukan hasil penelitian tersebut dengan menunjuk berbagai kelemahannya, antara lain tidak adanya data hasil pengukuran kuat medan listrik dan medan magnet yang mengenai kelompok anak-anak yang diteliti. Koreksi yang dilakukan oleh peneliti lainnya seperti yang dilakukan oleh Savitz dan kawan-kawan serta temuan studi Fulton dan kawan-kawan, ternyata hubungan tersebut tidak ada. Hasil penelitian dengan metoda yang lebih disempurnakan pernah dilakukan oleh Maria Linett dan kawan-kawan dari National Cancer Institute -Amerika tahun 1997. Penelitian yang melibatkan lebih kurang 1200 anak ini melaporkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan antara kejadian leukemia pada anak yang terpajan medan listrik dan medan magnet dengan anak-anak yang tidak terpajan. Temuan ini mengukuhkan penolakan terhadap hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Wertheimer dan Leeper tersebut.
Penelitian dengan menggunakan hewan percobaan pernah dilakukan sejak tahun 60-an dengan hasilnya bervariasi mulai dari gambaran yang tidak berpengaruh, adanya perubahan perilaku sampai pada pengaruh terjadinya cacat pada keturunan. Sesungguhnya hasil penelitian pada hewan yang menunjukkan adanya pengaruh buruk tersebut diakibatkan oleh penggunaan kuat medan listrik atau medan magnet yang sangat besar dalam percobaan tersebut. Percobaan dengan kuat medan listrik dan medan magnet sampai pada tingkat yang menghasilkan kelainan tersebut memang diperlukan untuk mengetahui proses terjadinya gangguan tertentu sehingga dapat dipergunakan sebagai dasar penanggulangannya. Kuat medan listrik dan medan magnet yang digunakan pada percobaan tersebut hampir mustahil dapat dihasilkan dan terjadi di lingkungan sekitar kehidupan manusia. Pengaruh medan listrik dan medan magnet terhadap kesehatan sangat tergantung pada dosis yang diterimanya. Dosis yang kecil tentu tidak akan berpengaruh, bahkan penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Piekarsi dari negara bekas Uni Sovyet menunjukkan efek positif terhadap penyambungan tulang yang patah pada anjing percobaan.
Para ahli telah sepakat bahwa medan listrik dan medan magnet yang berasal dari jaringan listrik digolongkan sebagai frekuensi ekstrim rendah dengan konsekuensi kemampuan memindahkan energi sangat kecil, sehingga tidak mampu mempengaruhi ikatan kimia pembentuk sel-sel tubuh manusia. Disamping itu sel tubuh manusia mempunyai kuat medan listrik sekitar 10 juta Volt/m yang jauh lebih kuat dari medan listrik luar. Medan listrik dan medan magnet dengan frekuensi ekstrim rendah ini juga tidak mungkin menimbulkan efek panas seperti yang dapat terjadi pada efek medan elektromagnet gelombang mikro, frekuensi radio, dan frekuensi yang lebih tinggi seperti pada telepon seluler. Adanya sementara orang yang tinggal dekat dengan jaringan transmisi listrik melaporkan keluhan-keluhan seperti sakit kepala, pusing, berdebar dan susah tidur serta kelemahan seksual adalah bersifat subyektif, karena persepsi mereka yang kurang tepat.

Kuat Medan Magnet SUTET 500 KV

Pengukuran kuat medan magnet dilakukan di lapangan terbuka tanpa adanya pengaruh keberadaan pohon-pohonan, rumah serta obyek-obyek lain. Pengukuran kuat medan untuk Ciledug mencapai angka maksimum 0,0021 mili Tesla dititik 0 meter (sejajar tower), Cirata mencapai angka maksimum 0,036 mili Tesla pada titik sejarak 0 m, Ungaran mencapai angka maksimum 0,00180 mili Tesla pada titik sejarak 0 m, sedang Gresik mencapai angka maksimum 0,0021 mili Tesla pada titik sejarak 0 m. Menurut IRPA dan WHO, batasan pajanan kuat medan magnet yang diduga dapat menimbulkan efek biologis untuk umum adalah 0,5 mili Tesla, sedang seperti diuraikan diatas kuat medan magnet di bawah SUTET 500 kV dilapangan terbuka mencapai harga maksimum 0,036 mili Tesla (di Cirata) pada titik 0 m sejajar tower.

Jadi masih sangat jauh dibawah ambang batas yang ditetapkan. Pengukuran kuat medan magnet di tiga lokasi dilakukan pada posisi listrik nyala, diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut : di desa Marga Hurip, Kec. Banjaran, Kab. Bandung diperoleh angka maksimum 0.0255 mili Tesla; di desa Genuk RT. 01 Ungaran diperoleh angka maksimum 0.0124 mili Tesla; dan di perumahan Bhakti Pertiwi Gresik diperoleh angka maksimum 0.0175 mili Tesla. Pengukuran kuat medan magnet di dalam rumah dengan posisi listrik nyala memperlihatkan harga yang kecil. Hal ini, sama seperti pada kasus pengukuran medan listrik, disebabkan pula oleh adanya redaman rumah terhadap pajanan medan magnet. Demikian juga pengukuran kuat medan magnet pada posisi listrik tidak menyala, diperoleh hasil sedikit lebih rendah dibanding oleh kuat medan listrik pada posisi nyala. Hasil pengukuran ini jauh dibawah batas pajanan yang diperbolehkan.

Pedoman Teknis Pengurangan Dampak Medan Listrik dan Medan Magnet

Dari penelitian yang sudah dilakukan ditemukan kuat medan listrik di halaman/luar rumah lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan di dalam rumah, sehingga dalam rangka peningkatan kondisi lingkungan akibat adanya SUTET perlu diperhatikan hal-hal sebagai berikut : mengusahakan agar rumahnya berlangit-langit, menanam popohonan sebanyak mungkin disekitar rumah pada lahan yang kosong, bagian atap rumah terbuat dari atap logam, seharusnya ditanahkan (digroundkan), penduduk disarankan tidak berada diluar rumah terutama pada malam hari, karena pada saat itu arus yang mengalir pada kawat penghantar SUTET lebih tinggi dari pada siang hari.
Pengamanan terhadap arus peluahan elektrostatis perlu dilakukan untuk menghindari adanya pengutupan muatan yang akan terjadi pada benda terbuat dari bahan logam. Caranya yaitu dengan mentanahkan agar terjadi penetralan kembali semua benda terbuat dari bahan logam dengan ukuran cukup besar (contohnya kawat jemuran, kabal interkom, mobil dan sepeda motor), yang terletak dibawah SUTET. Hal ini dikarenakan untuk menghindari adanya pengutupan muatan yang akan terjadi pada objek tersebut, dengan mentanahkan maka akan terjadi penetralan kembali. Akibat adanya arus peluahan ini pengamanan yang harus dilakukan oleh penduduk adalah: disarankan tidak membuat jemuran yang atasnya bebas sama sekali dari pepohonan; disarankan membuat jemuran bukan berasal dari kawat dan tiang besi, (contoh : kayu, bambu, tali plastik) dan kalau terpaksa membuat jemuran yang menggunakan bahan konduktor maka harus di tanahkan; saluran interkom harus jauh dari SUTET; bila atap bukan dari bahan logam (genting, asbes, sirap) maka usahakan atap tersebut tidak terdapat bahan logam (misalnya antena TV, talang seng); jangan memasang antena TV atau radio (ORARI)di atap rumah; usahakan kendaraan bermotor (mobil, sepeda motor dll) ditanahkan untuk menghilangkan medan elektrostatis akibat induksi SUTET; usahakan tidak terdapat bahan-bahan yang bersifat konduktor berada di teras rumah yang bertingkat di bawah SUTET; Sering mungkin melakukan pengukuran tegangan dengan testpen pada objek yang dicurigai bertegangan.
Pengamanan Terhadap Induksi Tegangan Lebih Transien Pada Peralatan Listrik dapat dilaksanakan dengan pemasangan titik nol yang ditanahkan. Tegangan induksi pada peralatan di bawah SUTET aman bagi manusia. Pengamanan Terhadap Tegangan Langkah dan Tegangan Sentuh disarankan penduduk agar masyarakat tidak masuk didalam daerah sekitar pentanahan kaki menara yang telah diberi pagar oleh PLN.
Pengamanan Terhadap Bahaya Putusnya Kawat Saluran Transisi dilakukan agar pemukiman yang dilintasi SUTET perlu ditanami pepohonan, tetapi perlu di pantau ketinggiannya dan batas-batas ruang bebas, yaitu puncak pohon berjarak minimum 15 M dari kabel SUTET terbawah. Bahaya putusnya kawat SUTET belum pernah dijumpai, yang dijumpai adalah pecahnya isolator, oleh sebab itu digunakan isolator ganda dan dengan tanaman pohon dibawah SUTET yang dipantau ketinggiannya maka bahaya seandainya kawat SUTET putus dapat dieleminir.
Pengamanan terhadap loncatan listrik keinstalasi diatas atap bangunan diadasarkan pada Peraturan Menteri Pertambangan dan Energi No. 01.P/47/MPE/1992, yaitu agar jarak minimum titik tertinggi bangunan (pohon) terhadap titik terendah kawat penghantar SUTET 500 kV harus memenuhi ketentuan sbb : Jarak minimum titik tertinggi bangunan tahan api terhadap titik terendah kawat penghantar SUTET 500 kV adalah 8,5 m; Jarak minimum titik tertinggi jembatan besi titik terendah kawat penghantar SUTET 500 kV adalah 8,5 m; Jarak minimum jalan kereta api terhadap titik terendah kawat penghantar SUTET 500 kV adalah 15 m; Jarak minimum lapangan terbuka terhadap titik terendah kawat penghantar SUTET 500 kV adalah 11 m; Jarak minimum titik tertinggi bangunan tidak tahan api terhadap titik terendah kawat penghantar SUTET 500 kV adalah 15 m; Jarak minimum titik tertinggi bangunan tidak tahan api terhadap titik terendah kawat penghantar SUTET 500 kV adalah 15 m; Jarak minimum jalan raya terhadap titik terendah kawat penghantar SUTET 500 kV adalah 15 m. Ruang bebas adalah ruang sekeliling penghantar yang dibentuk oleh jarak bebas minimum sepanjang SUTT atau SUTET yang didalam ruang itu harus dibebaskan dari benda-benda dan kegiatan lainnya. Ruang bebas ditetapkan berdeda-beda dalam luas dan bentuk. Sementara ruang aman adalah ruang yang berada di luar ruang bebas. Lahan atau tanahnya yang masih dapat dimanfaatkan. Dalam ruang aman pengaruh kuat medan listrik dan kuat medan magnet sudah dipertimbangkan dengan mengacu kepada peraturan yang berlaku. Ruang bebas dan ruang aman dapat diatur besarnya sesuai kebutuhan pada saat mempersiapkan rancangbangun. Ruang aman dapat diperluas dengan cara meninggikan menara dan atau mempendek jarak antara menara, sehingga bila ada pemukiman yang akan dilintasi SUTT / SUTET yang akan dibangun berada di dalam ruang yang aman.

1. PENDAHULUAN

Jaringan komputer adalah suatu tata cara berkomunikasi antara sumber daya informasi satu dengan lain melalui medium transmisi. Medium transmisi yang dapat digunakan dalam melakukan transmisi data dapat dikategorikan dalam 3 (tiga) jenis media[1], yaitu :

a. Kabel

b. Udara, dan

c. Cahaya

Media transmisi kabel saat ini merupakan salah satu media transmisi data yang cukup popular digunakan dalam melakukan komunikasi data antar sumber daya informasi, walau beberapa tahun terakhir ini keberadaannya mulai digeser oleh teknologi wireless yang memanfaatkan gelombang elektromagnetik sebagai media transmisi datanya.

Seiring dengan tumbuh dan berkembangnya suatu organisasi, kebutuhan akan koneksi sumber daya informasi menjadi bertambah sehingga pada suatu waktu infrastruktur jaringan yang tersedia tidak sanggup memenuhi kebutuhan organisasi tersebut. Penggunaan sarana komunikasi data dengan menggunakan perangkat wireless menjadi satu pilihan dalam upaya memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut.

Beberapa kasus, penggunaan perangkat wireless masih terkendala pada bentuk tata ruang yang ada, seperti pada gedung perkantoran bertingkat, karena sinyal komunikasi yang dikirim tidak dapat menembus ruang bertingkat. Penambahan kabel komunikasi seperti UTP, coaxial maupun fiber-optic antar tingkat dalam gedung tersebut memiliki tingkat kesulitas tersendiri, apalagi jika perencanaan pembangunan awal dari gedung tersebut tidak memikirkan kemungkinkan pengembangan infra struktur teknologi informasi.

Pemanfaatan jaringan listrik tegangan rendah sebagai alternatif transmisi data melalui media kabel yang dikombinasikan dengan media transmisi lain baik melalui kabel UTP, coaxial maupun wireless dapat merupakan salah satu pilihan karena ketersediaan secara umum telah tersedia di gedung-gedung perkantoran dimana organisasi tersebut berada.

2. TINJAUAN PUSTAKA

2.1. Instalasi Listrik Tegangan Rendah

Seperti yang kita ketahui Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PT PLN), di Indonesia membagi tegangan listrik dalam 4 kategori[2], yaitu :

a. Saluran Tegangan Esktra Tinggi (SUTET) dengan kapasitas 500 kV

b. Saluran Tegangan Tinggi (SUTT) dengan kapasitas 150 kV

c. Saluran Tegangan Menengah (SUTM) dengan kapasitas 20 kV (fase-fase), dan

d. Saluran Tegangan Rendah (SUTR) dengan kapasitas 380/220 V

Pada gedung-gedung bertingkat, tegangan listrik di distribusikan dari saluran tegangan menengah melalui trafo distribusi menjadi saluran tegangan rendah 3 fase R, S, T dimana R – S = S-T = T- R = 380 Volt. Pada setiap fase tegangan katakan R – N = 330 Volt / Akar 3 = ± 220 Volt, yaitu nilai tegangan yang keluar darisetiap outlet yang tersedia pada gedung tersebut, tergantung dari kombinasi dari fase yang tersedia, yang digambarkan sebagai berikut :

Infrastruktur jaringan listrik tegangan rendah dari suatu gedung perkantoran bertingkat secara hirarki biasanya akan berbentuk penataan seperti ditujukan pada gambar 2 di bawah ini :

Dari infrastuktur yang tersedia tersebut, jumlah pengguna yang ada pada jaringan listrik yang tersedia akan berbeda-beda, baik dari segi panjang masing-masing jalur maupun jumlah pengguna berdasarkan outlet yang tersedia di masing-masing sub ruang, yang ada pada gedung perkantoran tersebut.

2.2. Prinsip kerja Komunikasi PLC

Frekuensi daya listrik pada prinsipnya berada dalam range 50/60 Hz. Sinyal-sinyal data dinaikkan ke frekuensi ultra tinggi dalam range 500/600 MHz, sehingga data dapat ditumpangkan ke atas kabel utama listrik tanpa terjadi kondisi saling melemahkan. Mengacu ke dasar tersebut maka tegangan rendah tersebut pada prinsipnya ditumpangi data, karena tersedianya Jaringan Daya Terkondisi Frekuensi Tinggi (High Frequency Conditioned Power Network, HFCPN), yaitu dengan cara menginjeksikan sinyal-sinyal data ke dalam daya listrik dengan percepatan sampai 10 juta kali sehingga frekuensi ultra tinggi dapat terjadi. Untuk maksud tersebut dibutuhkan suatu unit pengkondisi (Condition Unit, CU), berupa kopel terminal untuk bagian high and low pass filter. Sistem komunikasi data digital melalui kanal jaringan listrik secara garis besar ditunjukan pada gambar 3.

2.3. Teknik Trasmisi data

Transmisi data yang digunakan pada kanal jaringan listrik tegangan rendah ini adalah OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing), yaitu teknik transmisi dengan banyak frekuensi (multicarrier)[3]. Menggunakan Discrete Fourier Transfor (DFT) dengan beberapa buah frekuensi yang saling tegak lurus (orthogonal). Dibandingkan dengan sinyal FDM (Frequency Division Multiplexer), sinyal OFDM memungkinkan terjadinya modulasi pada tiap-tiap sub-carrier, sehingga sinyal yang telah termodulasi tersebut diaplikasikan ke dalam Inverse Discrete Fourier Transform (IDFT), untuk pembuatan simbol OFDM. Penggunaan IDFT ini memungkinkan pengalokasian frekuensi yang saling tegak lurus (orthogonal). Bentuk sinyal OFDM dibanding dengan sinyal FDM seperti ditunjukan pada gambar 4.

Saat ini penggunaan OFDM dalam komunikasi data tidak hanya terbatas pada transmisi pada listrik tegangan rendah saja, akan tetapi telah digunakan pada teknik transmisi wireless, yang mulai banyak digunakan dalam teknologi informasi.

3. TATA KERJA

Infrastruktur yang umum pada suatu gedung perkantoran saat ini adalah pembagian listrik dalam 3 fase, sehingga memungkinkan pendistribusian secara proposional, tetapi kondisi ini akan menyulitkan dalam mentransmisikan data dari satu lokasi ke lokasi yang lain pada kondisi fase yang berbeda. Hal ini dikarenakan hanya sub-ruang dalam fase yang sama saja yang saling terkoneksi datanya sedangkan pada sub ruang lain dengan fase yang berbeda tidak tersedia. Kondisi ini membutuhkan suatu metode bridging, yang menggabungkan peralatan-peralatan komunikasi melalui transmisi listrik tegangan rendah yang ada di setiap fase tegangan ke dalam satu jalur komunikasi. Diagram skematis dari bridging seperti ditunjukan pada gambar 5.

Dengan teknik bridging kendala komunikasi data dalam perencanaan jaringan komputer melalui listrik tegangan rendah dapat terpenuhi.

Akan tetapi jika dilihat dari sisi keamanan data, teknik ini dapat memudahkan organisasi luar untuk memanfaatkan jalur data yang terdapat dalam satu area gedung. Beberapa vendor produk yang menawarkan peralatan komunikasi data melalui listrik tegangan rendah, Corinex merupakan salah satu vendor yang menempatkan faktor keamanaan data dalam kemasan produknya dengan security 3DES Link Encryption, Network Encryption Key passwords (NEKs), serta Device Encryption Key (DEK) yang terdapat pada perangkat lunak agent yang dimiliki[4].

Faktor kecepatan transmisi data juga merupakan pertimbangan lain dalam mengkomunikasikan data dari satu tempat ke tempat lain melalui listrik tegangan rendah, menurut standarisasi homeplug 1.0, kemampuan transmisi data melalui kabel listrik hanya dapat di saluran maksimum 14 Mbps, nilai ini termasuk kecil jika dibandingkan fungsi dari saluran tersebut sebagai backbone jaringan dari suatu organisasi yang ingin menerapkan komunikasi via jaringan listrik.

Mengacu ke beberapa penelitian terakhir, penggunaan transmisi OFDM dapat memungkinkan penambahan kemampuan transmisi data ke tingkat 200 Mbps, yaitu dengan metode HFCPN yang diperbaharui. Kemampuan inilah yang dapat digunakan dalam membangun jaringan komputer melalui listrik tegangan rendah.

4. HASIL DAN BAHASAN

4.1. Merencanakan Jaringan

Dalam merencanakan jaringan komputer lokal (Local Area Network), dalam suatu gedung perkantoran perlu disusun rencana strategi pemasangan jaringan dengan melihat beberapa kondisi sebagai berikut :

a. Apakah organisasi yang ada sebelumnya telah memiliki jaringan komputer lokal ?

b. Apakah jaringan tersebut perlu dikembangkan lebih lanjut ?

c. Apakah gedung tempat organisasi tersebut berada tidak memiliki infrastruktur yang memadai dalam mentransmisikan data antar ruang, dengan menggunakan media transmisi yang ditujukan untuk jaringan komputasi ?

d. Apakah organisasi tersebut terbagi dalam ruang yang berbeda baik pada lantai yang sama maupun pada lantai yang berbeda ?

e. Apakah transfer data yang membutuhkan kecepatan tinggi ?

Jika kondisi tersebut di atas terpenuhi maka dapat dikembangkan suatu rencana yang matang dalam memanfaatkan media transmisi jaringan listrik tegangan rendah sebagai alternatif perancangannya.

4.2. Bangun Awal Jaringan Komputer Suatu Organisasi

Diasumsikan suatu organisasi memiliki infrastruktur jaringan awal dimana organisasi tersebut membutuhkan 2 sub-ruang yang terletak pada room 301 dan 303 dari suatu gedung, yang infrastruktur jaringannya di gambarkan sebagai berikut :

Dalam perkembangannya organisasi tersebut membutuhkan perluasan ruang kantor, dimana dari 2 sub-ruang yang disewa menjadi 14 sub-ruang yang susunannya tersusun sebagai berikut :

a. Ruang Direksi berada di room 301 (lantai 3) yang membutuhkan 6 unit komputer serta 2 unit printer;

b. Ruang bagian pemasaran di room 308 (Lantai 3) dan 406 (lantai 4) yang membutuhkan 12 unit printer dan 6 unit printer;

c. Ruang bagian keuangan berada di room 303, Room 306 (lantai 3), dan Room 603 (lantai 6) yang membutuhkan 8 unit komputer, dan 4 unit printer;

d. Ruang bagian produksi berada di room 111 dan 112 (lantai 11) yang membutuhkan 10 unit komputer, dan 4 unit printer;

e. Ruang bagian administrasi kepegawaian di room 124, 125 dan 126 (lantai 12) yang membutuhkan 12 unit komputer dan 6 unit printer

f. Ruang EDP berada di room 501 (lantai 5) membutuhkan 3 unit komputer client, 1 router, 1 unit printer, 2 unit tape backup, 4 unit server yang berfungsi sebagai domain server, file server, web server serta database server, 1 unit ADSL unlimited yang terkoneksi ke jaringan internet, yang semua tertata pada mountrack;

g. Ruang respsionis berada di room 101 dan 102 (lantai 1) yang membutuhkan 4 unit komputer dan 1 unit printer

Dari infrastruktur jaringan listrik pada gedung tersebut, fase tegangan terbagi atas 3 fase dengan pola distribusi sebagai berikut :

a. Fase R dari trafo didistribusikan untuk lantai 1 sampai lantai 4;

b. Fase S didistribusikan untuk lantai 5 sampai dengan lantai 8, serta;

c. Fase T didistribusikan untuk lantai 9 sampai dengan lantai 12

4.3. Strategi Pengembangan Jaringan Komputer

Dengan melihat rencana pengembangan jaringan komputer yang ada pada organisasi tersebut dapat dilihat beberapa hal sebagai berikut :

a. Jumlah komputer yang terletak pada lantai 1 ada sebanyak 4 unit client;

b. Jumlah komputer yang terletak pada lantai 3 ada sebanyak 12 unit client;

c. Jumlah komputer yang terletak pada lantai 5 ada sebanyak 7 unit komputer terdiri atas 3 unit komputer client dan 4 unit komputer server;

d. Jumlah komputer yang terletak pada lantai 6 ada sebanyak 2 unit komputer client;

e. Jumlah komputer yang terletak pada lantai 11 ada sebanyak 10 unit client, dan ;

f. Jumlah komputer yang terletak pada lantai 12 ada sebanyak 12 unit client.

Dilihat dari beban tegangan yang dibutuhkan unit semua unit komputer yang ada di luar dari penerangan adalah sebagai berikut :

a. Fase R memiliki beban 16 unit komputer;

b. Fase S memiliki beban 9 unit komputer, dan

c. Fase T memiliki beban 22 unit komputer

Dengan mempertimbangkan bahwa semua jaringan komputer yang ada berada di bawah kontrol bagian EDP yang berada di lantai 5 dan pada fase tegangan S, dengan beban hanya 9 unit komputer maka untuk mengkoneksikan 47 unit komputer dalam satu pengelolaan dengan memanfaatkan jaringan listrik tegangan rendah perlu dilakukan beberapa strategi, sebagai berikut :

a. Fase S yang terdistribusikan dari lantai 1 sampai dengan lantai 4 di koneksikan ke ruang EDP yang koneksi jalurnya diambil dari trafo utama serta disalurkan melalui MCB di lantai 5

b. Fase R yang mendistribusikan dari lantai 5 sampai dengan lantai 8 tidak ada perubahan;

c. Fase T yang mendistribusikan tegangan listrik dari lantai 9 sampai dengan lantai 12, kasusnya sama dengan fase S;

d. Kebutuhan koneksi melalui peralatan Power Line Communication yang cukup populer saat ini seperti merk Corinex yang memiliki cukup banyak ragam peralatan untuk PLC.

e. Pada ruang EDP yang terletak di lantai 5, peralatan PLC tersebut di susun sedemikian rupa sehingga 3 fase yang dimiliki terkoneksikan dengan baik.

Dengan mempertimbangkan hal-hal tersebut di atas, maka proses bridging peralatan dapat diterapkan di ruang EDP sehingga semua fase dapat terlayani dengan baik, adapun desain jaringan yang dibuat dapat dilihat pada gambar 7. Jika dianggap perlu, desain jaringan dapat digabungkan dengan media transmisi lain seperti dengan menggunakan kabel coaxial, maupun wireless, dalam merancang jaringan yang lebih luas dan kompleks, sehingga topologi ini memungkinkan penggabungan dari beberapa topologi jaringan yang dikenal dengan metode hybrid.

4.4. Keamanan Data

Dalam merancang faktor keamanan data yang ada dalam jaringan tersebut perlu beberapa strategi yang dapat diterapkan sebagai bahan pertimbangan, yaitu :

a. Komunikasi data antar bagian yang dianggap penting, di seting dalam segmen IP tertentu sehingga tidak terdistribusikan pada bagian lain yang tidak berkepentingan;

b. Penggunaan metode security yang tersedia, seperti penggunaan 3DES Link Encryption, Network Encryption Key passwords (NEKs), maupun Device Encryption Key (DEK);

c. Penggunaan levelisasi pengguna, maupun teknik lain seperti GPO (Group Policy Object) untuk keamanan data di tingkat perangkat lunak.

5. SIMPULAN

Dengan memanfaatkan jaringan listrik tegangan rendah dalam merancang jaringan komputer lokal, maka dapat diambil simpulan sebagai berikut

Media transmisi data melalui listrik tegangan rendah dalam 3 fase tegangan perlu dipertimbangkan faktor bridging saluran, sehingga data dapat tersalurkan dengan baik di setiap fase tegangan.
Transmisi data melalui listrik tegangan rendah ini menggunakan OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexer) yang saat ini lebih berkembang dibandingkan metode lain.
Tumbuh kembangnya vendor yang menawarkan peralatan, melalui saluran listrik dapat dimungkinkan suatu model topologi campuran yang dikenal dengan metode hybrid.
Faktor keamanan data dalam merancang jaringan listrik ini merupakan faktor penting, karena terbukanya saluran data pada setiap fase tegangan.

How-To: Clone or Copy a VirtualBox Virtual Disk

As a virtual machine environment user, I regularly create ‘base’ images of machines that I can reuse – a base Windows Server 2003 environment, or SQL Server 2005 environment for example. That way, when I need a new machine, I can simply create a copy of the virtual disk and add any additional software I need, saving myself valuable time creating new virtual environments.

With VMWare’s various offerings, copying a virtual disk is easy: copy the disk in Windows Explorer and add it to a newly created VM; VMWare will detect that the disk was a copy and create a new unique identifier (UUID) for the disk before adding it to the VM. Easy and painless. Not so with VirtualBox.

With VirtualBox, copying a virtual disk is a bit of a pain. If you copy the disk in Windows Explorer and try and use it in a new VM, VirtualBox will have a hissy fit and display the error shown below. A bit of a ‘wordy’ way to say that it already knows about this disk, don’t you think?

The publicised way around this is to use the command-line VBoxManage CloneHd tool, however there is another – secret and undocumented – way to clone a disk: the setvdiuuid tool. Lets look at these two methods in detail.

Cloning a Virtual Disk – The ‘Supported’ Method
Cloning a disk is (IMHO) a clunky and Unix-y type way of creating a duplicate disk. We need to invoke the CloneHd command of the VBoxManage tool, supplying the disk to clone and the name of the new ‘cloned’ disk. In its simplest form, you would do something like this at the command-line:

VBoxManage clonehd "DiskToClone.vdi" "ClonedDisk.vdi"

The VBoxManage tool will chug away and clone the disk for you, creating a new UUID in the process:

The cloned disk can now be used on a new VM without incurring the ‘I already know about this disk’ error.

Copying a Disk – The ‘Unsupported’ Method
The alternative to the CloneHd tool is an undocumented option available in VBoxManage – the setvdiuuid command. As the command help states: ‘This is a development tool and shall only be used to analyse problems. It is completely unsupported and will change in incompatible ways without warning’. Because of this, let me add a little disclaimer: I don’t accept any responsibility if you completely destroy your VM using this procedure. Having said that, it appears to work without issue, so I’m more than happy to use it myself – just make sure that you take a backup of you virtual disk before using it if necessary.

To use the tool, simply create a copy of the virtual disk’s VDI file in Windows Explorer; open the Windows command-line and issue the setvdiuuid command for the newly copied disk:

VBoxManage internalcommands setvdiuuid "CopiedDisk.vdi"

The tool will create a new UUID and assign it to the disk:

The new copied disk can now be used on a new VM without incurring the ‘I already know about this disk’ error.

VirtualBox is an open-source virtualization software from Sun much like VMWare and Parallels, but free for personal use! I just tried it out on my Mac OS X to run a Windows Vista VM on a physical Windows Vista partition created through bootcamp, and thought I'd share my experience (and to write down for myself for future reference :)).

I had googled and found someone doing very similar thing on a Ubuntu machine. Most of the info is pretty relevant on a Mac OS X as well, except that I couldn't use the solution of assigning my user account to the "disk" group; there's no "disk" group on Mac OS X. The other solution mentioned of changing permission works however. Here's exactly what I did:

0. Read the relevant part of the VirtualBox User Manual regarding using raw partition ("9.10.2 Access to individual physical hard disk partitions").

1. Locate the device and partition holding your Windows Vista partition (e.g, using "df -k" command):

For me, for example, I know the Windows partition is /dev/disk0s3.

2. Back up your existing Windows Vista partition, to a external drive for example, since you might damage the Windows paritition in this exercise and render it unusable! One free tool I find pretty reliable in backing up and restoring Windows partition is winclone.

3. Change to root to do the next few commands:

sudo su

You may need to enable root user by going to the "Directory Utility" app, click on the lock icon, and then Edit->Enable Root User.

4. Unmount the Vista partition in Mac OS X if you currently have it mounted, since we don't want VirtualBox accessing it at the same time that Mac OS is accessing it:

umount /dev/disk0s3

and make sure it has been unmounted (i.e., the directory /Volumes/Untitled is empty in my case).

5. Change the device to read/write, which is needed by VirtualBox as stated in the user manual:

chmod 666 /dev/disk0*

Note that you have to change permission for all of disk0, not just the Windows parition (hence the "disk0*"), since createrawvmdk needs to access disk0 as well as disk0s3.

6. Run the command

VBoxManage internalcommands createrawvmdk -filename /Users/jshawsworld/WinVista.vmdk -rawdisk /dev/dev0 -partitions 3 -relative

7. Finally change the owner to your user account for the vmdk file you just created as root, so you can access it as yourself when running VirtualBox later:

chown jshawsworld /Users/jshawsworld/*.vmdk

8. Run VirtualBox from Finder, and browse to the vmdk file.

9. Make sure that "IO APIC" and "VT-x/AMD-V" in your Virtual Machine Settings are both on, and then start the VM. It should start.

Even though I got it working, it was painfully slow..., even after giving it 2 GB of memory. I had tried VMWare Fusion to do the same thing before, and remember it wasn't any faster. To really work efficiently in Windows I think booting to it via bootcamp is still the way to go. XP might be faster; who knows maybe Windows 7 will be much faster. For light-weight OS's (like Linux) running it as a VM is definitely the way to go.

How To Convert VMWare Image (.vmdk) to VirtualBox Image (.vdi)

I’ve found more and more people are switching to Virtualbox these days and I keep running into the same question. ”How can I convert my VMware images to Virtualbox images?” Well, breath easy because it is possible and not very difficult!

There are two methods that I am aware of that will allow you to use your VMware images on Virtualbox. The first method I’ll outline uses the graphical Virtualbox interface and the second uses the command line. Each method should be equally as stable, it simple depends on your preference.

Method 1

Start Virtualbox
Inside the Virtualbox Menu click: File > Virtual Media Manager
Click on the “Add” button.
Locate and select the VMware .vmdk file you’d like to convert.
Click Open.
Verify your disk image has been added to the list of images and that the virtual and actual sizes appear accurate.
Click OK
Create a new virtual machine profile, selecting your imported image for the storage.
Boot your new virtual machine.

Method 2
To use the second method we’ll need an addition command-line tool called qemu.

sudo aptitude install qemu

You’ll new be able to convert a .vmdk (VMware image) to a .bin format, which can then be converted to a Virtualbox native .vdi format.

qemu-img convert /path/to/original.vmdk converted.bin

You’ll then need to use the VBoxManage utility that comes with Virtualbox to convert the .bin to a native .vdi format:

VBoxManage convertdd converted.bin converted.vdi

You can now create your new Virtualbox machine profile, using this new .vdi file as your disk image.

Two methods for converting VMware images to Virtualbox images. Are there any other methods that you can suggest, or have you had better experience with one or the other? Let us know!

DASHBOARD WIDGETS ON MY MAC OS X DESKTOP?

I've fallen in love with Dashboard on my new Mac OS X Tiger system, but I hate having to type f12 to get them to show up. Is it possible to have my dashboard widgets show up on my regular desktop?

It's not only possible, but it's pretty easy and darn fun! Here's what you need to do...

First, open up Terminal (Applications --> Utilities --> Terminal) and type in the following, exactly as you see here:

defaults write com.apple.dashboard devmode YES

You can just copy and paste from this Web page if you're concerned that you might type in something incorrectly, of course.

You'll get another regular system prompt within Terminal if it works, there's no other output to the defaults program.

Now log out of your account by choosing Apple --> Log Out, and log in again (You need to restart Dashboard).

Ready for the fun now? Press f12 to bring Dashboard up, then drag one of your Dashboard widgets around. While you're still dragging it around (that's critical: keep that mouse button down!) press f12 again.

Poof! Your Dashboard vanishes, but the widget's still visible. Move it to where-ever you want on your screen and it's there, running, fully functional, without the rest of Dashboard around!

You'll notice that it lives above everything else on your screen (at least, I don't know how to push it behind other app windows) so I think you'll have the best results with small widgets that can be tucked into a corner or lined up neatly on an edge.

To move the widget back into the Dashboard world, reverse the trick: begin dragging the widget, then, while still keeping the mouse button down, press f12, then let go of the mouse button. The widget will be restored to its regular Dashboard layer.

In the screenshot above, you can see the dashboard Weather widget floating above Safari and adjacent to the little floating clock from the Date and Time System Preference.

Using SSI with WordPress

Server Side Includes (SSI) are a very powerful tool that can be
used to update multiple pages on a site quickly and with minimum fuss.

e.g. Imagine you had a site and you wanted to include a list of
recommended merchants at the bottom of every page. What happens if one
of the merchants changes their affiliate link, or drops you as an
affiliate, or simply does not convert? If you site had 100 pages, you
would have to manually update 100 pages and re-upload all 100 pages.

With SSI, you would have this list of merchants in a single text
file. You would then “include” that text file in all of the pages on
your site.

If you need to change a link, you simply change the link in the text
file and re-upload that one file. The merchant list will then be
updated on every single page of your site.

Typically I’ll have 4 or 5 of these “merchant files” for any site I
build. The list of merchants and ads shown in these files will be
geared towards the section on my site in which they will appear. e.g.
on a contact lens site, I would probably have one merchant file for the
pages advertising prescription lenses, and another merchant file for
cosmetic lenses (those lenses that are just for appearance). I might
even have a separate file for “halloween lenses”, and include photos of
vampire eyes, or cats eyes – whatever is hot at the moment.

By keeping my merchant lists to a few separate files, I can quickly
and easily swap out merchants, add in new promotions (e.g. at Halloween
there are always special offers, and these can be added to all
“Halloween” related pages in a few seconds) and have total control over
what ads are showing on the various sections of my website. If changes
need to be made, I don’t need to edit every page on my site, just my
include files.

Do you see the power of this?

To help with SSI in WordPress sites, there is a plugin I recommend. I
have it working on a WordPress 2.7.1. installation so can confirm it is
compatible with this version of WordPress.

WordPress Plugin: Include
It

Download and install it.

Now, in an HTML editor (or text editor if you prefer), create the
file that you want included in your pages. Construct it in standard
HTML. It can include a table, headers, affiliate links, text, images
etc. When you have finished the include file, save it to the root
folder of your site. You can give it any name you want, e.g.
merchants.txt, merchants.html etc.

Now, with the plugin active, simply add the following code in the
position of your WordPress post that you want the merchant list to
appear:

[include file=merchant.txt]

Save your post, and you are finished.

The contents of the merchant.txt file should display in the post.

Add this line to every post you want the list to appear in. When you
need to change the merchant list, simply edit the merchant.txt file,
and upload it. The merchant list will be updated on every page that you
added it to.

Using server-side includes (SSIs) to add content to your web pages

What is an SSI?

A server-side include is code in a web page that tells the
server to add some specified information at that point in the page. It's
a way to extend the content of your page in some useful ways.

Caution: SSIs don't work on every web
server, and the details vary from one to another. This page describes
features which I know work on Apache and Microsoft IIS servers, and are
probably applicable to others.

Ask your web hosting company if (a) you can use SSIs, (b) what file
naming conventions you have to use for them to work, and (c) where you
should keep the files that use them. Then, as long as the answer to (a)
is yes, you can get started.

How do they work?

Unless otherwise instructed, a web server just sends the content of a
web page to the client, your browser. But for an SSI to work, the
server must parse (read) the file, find all the SSIs, and process them
before sending the content to the browser.

The web server can be set up to parse all files (not usual), in which
case, you can name your files with the usual .htm
or .html extensions. However, the usual case is
to have a specific extension set up for parsed files - usually .stm, .php or .asp.
If you use the wrong extension, the SSIs will just be ignored. The
folder that holds them must have appropriate execute or scripting
permissions too, or they will not work.

What can they do?

There are three main uses: to take standard text from another file
and insert it into the page (include files), to insert the value of a
variable quantity into the page, or to run a CGI script other than as
the action of a form.

I'm going to cover the basics here: include files, and some
variables. Many ISPs forbid the running of executables this way because
it can be a security risk, so I'm not going to discuss them here. If you
want detailed information on everything that can be done, a useful
starting point is the Apache site, or if you have a commercial web
server, the manufacturer's site or the online help should have details
of which directives and variables are available for its product.

Including files

To include some standard text (for example, a disclaimer or
copyright), put one of these lines in your parsed web page where you
want it to appear:

Note that although this looks like an HTML comment, you must put a
space before the closing -->. Use the first
form if the file is in the same directory or you are specifying a

second for an absolute path (e.g. in another virtual directory - /includes/footer.inc), but never a full HTTP URL. The
file should contain either plain text or HTML markup (inbcluding scripts
of couurse), and can have any name you like, though a .inc
extension is conventional.

Adding variables to the page

The web server has access to certain standard variables and file
information, which you can put in your page. The most useful for the web
page author are probably:

environment, the current page, how it was fetched, by whom, etc. Some
variables that may be useful for web pages are DOCUMENT_URI,

Pros and cons

If you have a large site with a lot of common page elements, include
files can make a big difference to how easy it is to maintain the site.
Instead of updating, say, 50 pages with the same menu or navigation bar,
you can just update the include file once.

Because all the processing is done at the server, you do not
introduce any browser compatibility problems using them. For example,
you can insert the last modified date using JavaScript, but that won't
work for everyone.

Because a page containing SSIs must be parsed, there is a small
processing overhead, but this is not generally significant in my
experience - though a very long page might be noticeably slower to load,
I guess. (But you don't have any of those, do you?)

If you have made a mistake on a parsed page (for example, an include
file cannot be found because the path is wrong), users will get a
message different from the familiar 404 error, which may confuse them
(for example, error processing test.asp file).
This is only a problem if you don't test your pages properly before
publishing them!

So, on balance, if you need the facilities offered by them, I'd say
they were worth the trouble of learning and using.

JavaScript "document.write"

One of the most basic JavaScript commands is document.write.
This simply prints the specified text to the page. To print text
literally, enter the text in single quote marks inside parentheses like
so:

	document.write('Hello World!');

The code above will cause the phrase "Hello World!" to appear on the
page.

You can also use document.write to print
variables. Enter the variable name without quotes, like so:

	var mytext = "Hello again";<br />	document.write(mytext);<br />

Note that if quote marks are placed around the variable name, the
variable name itself will be printed (instead of the variable value).
You can also combine variable values and text strings by using the +
sign:

	var colour1 = "purple";<br />	var colour2 = "pink";<br />	document.write('<p>colour1: ' + colour1 + '<br>colour2: ' + colour2 + '</p>');<br />

Notice the way the variable names are used literally as well as for
passing the values. This will print the following:

colour1: purple
colour2: pink

Remember, text inside quotes will be printed literally, text with no
quotes is assumed to be a variable.

content for your web page. To update all the pages simultaneously,
simply update the JavaScript file.

Pros:

Easy to implement.
Does not rely on any special HTML extension or server configuration.

Cons:

Relies on the user having JavaScript enabled.
Updates are more tricky than other methods.

Step 1: Create JavaScript File

Create a plain text document and name it with a .js

common content in multiple pages. In a similar way to the client-side JavaScript method, SSI involves having a separate file which contains the content you wish to appear on multiple pages. To update the content, you only need to edit a single file.

Pros:

Server-side is safer than client-side (it doesn't rely on any
browser settings).
Updates are very fast and easy.

Cons:

Slight performance overhead at the server end (every SSI page needs
to be processed by the server before it is served to the user).
You usually need to use a special extension for web pages, e.g. .shtml.
The server must support Server Side Includes (most Apache servers
do).

Step 1: Create the SSI File

Create a plain text document and name it with a .txt extension, for example navigation.txt. Save
this file in a folder which is accessible from your whole website. You may want to make a special folder for this type of file, e.g. /includes/.

Jakarta - Tidak diragukan lagi bahwa jejaring sosial tengah naik daun. Facebook, jejaring sosial yang kini paling populer, melaporkan mempunyai lebih dari 400 juta pengguna aktif. Dengan pertumbuhan kepopulerannya, tak heran jika spammer membajak merek tersebut untuk mengirim pesan sampah (spam).

Menurut Symantec Messaging and Web Security, salah satu modus yang digunakan spammer adalah membuat pesan dengan cara yang menyerupai email notifikasi resmi dari sebuah situs jejaring sosial. Saat pengguna mengklik untuk membaca 'important notification' ini, mereka bakal diarahkan pada situs berbeda.

"http://odnbo.[DOMAIN REDACTED].net/Wharton.html" adalah contoh dari domain yang dibajak sehingga spammer memperoleh akses ilegal ke server yang sah dan menempatkan file HTML.

Hal ini membantu spammer menghindari penyaring berbasis reputasi URL. Meskipun file HTML pada domain yang dibajak kadang diberikan dengan maksud untuk mengirimkan konten spam, spam tersebut menggunakan teknik pengalihan untuk mengarahkan pengguna pada situs lainnya (obat-obatan online).

Spammer memalsukan merek jejaring sosial dan mengirim undangan untuk bergabung dalam jejaring tersebut. Meskidemikian, link di dalam email alam mengarahkan ke sebuah website spam. Vektor ini menargetkan semua pengguna, tanpa memperhatikan apakah mereka mempunyai akun atau tidak.

2. Menggabungkan Akun
Notifikasi palsu dikirim kepada pengguna jejaring sosial yang mendorong pengguna untuk menggabungkan akunnya. Dalam prosesnya, pengguna ditanya mengenai data pribadi akun tersebut. Setelah akun tersebut digabungkan, beberapa permintaan menjadi teman (semuanya berisi profil palsu) akan muncul. Semua profil tersebut mempromosikan spam. Akun tersebut juga kini dibajak dan bisa digunakan untuk spam lainnya.

3. Photo tag/Comment
Spammer memembuat pesan sehingga muncul seperti notifikasi photo tag/comment yang sah. Tapi URL di dalam pesan akan mengarahkan ke website lain yang mempromosikan spam.

4. Aplikasi
Karena beberapa jejaring sosial mengijinkan aplikasi pihak ketiga, aplikasi-aplikasi paling populer juga telah menjadi target spammer. Symantec menemukan pesan spam yang mempromosikan cara untuk melawan pemain lain dalam game populer yang ada di situs jejaring sosial.

5. Mengirimkan Malware
Berbagai jenis notifikasi telah dipalsukan untuk menyebar malware. Salah satu contoh, spammer mengirim pesan yang menganjurkan pengguna untuk mendownload sebuah toolbar jejaring sosial, yang sebenarnya adalah Trojan.

6. Perlindungan Privasi
Karena popularitas jejaring sosial meningkat, telah ada beberapa pengamatan mengenai praktek perlindungan privasi. Symantec menemukan serangan spam yang menawarkan sebuah produk yang memberitahukan pengguna jejaring sosial mana yang menyalahgunakan informasi pribadi mereka.
